The Palazzo Municipale town hall and the Mariottini Collection

Museum / place of art

The imposing Palazzo Zucchetti has been the seat of Panicale’s municipal authorities since 1870.
The salons on the “noble” floor are today used as council rooms, and house the Mariottini Collection, portraits of illustrious Panicale citizens. The collection was brought together between 1765 and 1780 by Francesco Mariottini, a professor of Civil and Canonical Rights. The most interesting piece in the collection is a large canvas containing a “List of the illustrious men of Panicale with portraits from life”, divided into 48 medallions with portraits of 48 people.
