A classic example of an Italian-style theater, with an audience, three sets of boxes and a gallery, the theater was inaugurated in 1834 based on a project by the architect Giovanni Santini. Due to the fall of the roof in 1969, it remained closed for many years. Since 2003, a majestic restoration has brought it back to life and has returned to being a place of culture and meeting for the city.
