“Sega la Vecchia” stems from the ancient tradition of door-to-door collection of alms, traces of which remain in what are now performances of street theatre. These take place sporadically during the forty days of Lent.
The Comune of Paciano recently received a collection of artefacts related to “Sega la Vecchia” donated by the Pietro Nofrini family and has set up a multimedia centre in Piazza della Repubblica, next to the theatre, where it can be visited.
