Considered one of the masterpieces of the Umbrian Renaissance, the temple was built at the end of the 15th century in a village called Castel Rigone thanks to the miraculous properties attributed to a painting of the Madonna on a wall. The sandstone façade is marked by horizontal bands and enriched by the major and minor portal, the rose window and the windows. The temple, with a Latin cross plan, preserves sculptures and decorations by Domenico Bertini known as The Topolino, and numerous other works of art, including an Assumption of the Virgin from the workshop of Caporali and a beautiful Epiphany by Domenico Alfani.
