From an innate penchant for woodworking, award-winning luthier Filippo Protani builds instruments almost exclusively to order, to create an instrument that exactly matches the player’s specifications, designed to best match the player’s physical characteristics and suit his musical techniques and its sound needs.
In his lutherie workshop, he builds instruments even without a client and on these occasions, taking advantage of a wide creative freedom, he experiments with different techniques and methods of construction or aesthetics.
