Missiano is a villa situated on the road that leads down from Panicale towards the fortified town of Piegaro, built at a fork in the road near the San Pietro church.
Documents from 1341 record that Missiano was dependent on the town of Piegaro. The San Pietro church was rebuilt in 1853 in a neoclassical style. A XVII century canvas by a follower of Pietro da Cortona depicting the Consignment of the keys to Saint Peter can still be seen at the main altar.
Near the Church, “The Teatrino”, recently restaured, hosts performances and cultural meetings.
