The village of Migiana is located on the top of a hillock leaning against the western flank of Monte Malbe, controlling the plain of the Caina River. Since the early Middle Ages, there is news of the fortress of Migiana, which in the twelfth century became a villa and was then equipped with a wall at the beginning of the fifteenth century. Few traces remain of the ancient fortified castle, including a part of the walls with the gate and a corner tower. The village basically consists of three short parallel streets that reach the square in front of the church of S. Bartolomeo.
