The Franciscan church of Santa Maria degli Angeli dates back to the 13th century and is located in the open countryside, along the route of the ancient Romea-Germanica road, very popular with pilgrims. At the center of the façade, a gothic bell tower stands out. Inside the church, there are beautiful medieval frescoes from the 14th and 15th centuries.
Next to the church there was also a small convent, where the hermit fathers of the Franciscan Order resided and where pilgrims could find refreshment and rest.
