According to the most ancient attestations, dating back to 1275, it was probably born as a chapel to give a minimum of response to the religious needs of the inhabitants of Monte Fontegiano. The current church was perhaps built on top of the pre-existing building and seems to date back to the 14th century, both for the internal structure and for what remains of the fresco behind the altar depicting the Crucifixion and other fragments on the side and rear walls, of remarkable workmanship.
Above the entrance, four majolica tiles make up the image of Sant’Andrea and bear the date 1608.
