Church of San Bartolomeo – Solomeo

Church of San Bartolomeo – Solomeo

Church

Outside the fortification of the village of Solomeo, the church was entirely rebuilt in 1748 on an older structure dating back to at least the fourteenth century and finally enlarged in the nineteenth century.
The interior consists of a single nave full of ornaments and houses a precious organ from the 1700s that has been perfectly restored. The church also preserves the Gonfaloncino depicting the Madonna with child between S. Monica and S. Bartolomeo, a splendid example of Peruginesque mannerism of the Counter-Reformation age, and a wooden crucifix from the 18th century.
