Church of Santa Maria Maddalena – Città della Pieve

Church of Santa Maria Maddalena – Città della Pieve

Church

It was built near the walls of the castle with an elegant bell tower in “barocchetto” style by Andrea Vici around the 1777 in the place where before stood the Church of Saint Egidio.
Here there was the headquarter of the Company of the Trinità, abolished in 1806, and later the Company of the Suffragio, moved from the demolished Church of Santa Maria Novella, a brotherhood that still exists. With the church, there was a small hospital until the years of the unification of Italy.
