Located on the top of a 373masl-hill, the castle of Antria preserves that discrete charm of the many medieval villages who almost seem to blend with the surrounding nature.
It is realistic to think that the first activities of the community of Antria were, besides agriculture and rearing, also craft, especially of the clay as indicates the presence of ovens n the undergrounds of the houses.
About the origin of the name, it is most likely come from the Latin word antrum, as “temple”, both because of a tale about a “mysterious cave”, and of some archeological discoveries in the area.
