The district of Capocavallo includes, along with Migiana, the majority of the woodland of the town. The homonymous town stands on a hill on the west of Mantignana, lying on the northern shore of Monte Malbe.
The unusual name is of uncertain origins, maybe because of the strange shape of the hill or rather because of the presence of an ancient exchange station, as a place of passage between the Valley of Trasimeno and the Valley of Tevere.
