Monte del Lago is one of the most evocative villages overlooking Lake Trasimeno, located on a small hill from which it dominates the lake. Until the seventeenth century, it was called Monte di Fontegiano or Fontigiano, perhaps due to the presence of a source dedicated to the god Janus. Not to be missed, a walk through its narrow streets and alleys, and above all its steep staircase down to a belvedere that offers an enchanting view of the Trasimeno. The whole village is a lodge on the lake.
