Thirteenth-century in the soul, but much more recent in the pink stone of Assisi, the church dates back to the first half of the thirteenth century, but in 1870 it was transformed from gothic to neoclassical with the addition of the bell tower, using the nearby medieval tower.
The single nave interior is simple, but houses two jewels of the Italian art: the large Altarpiece of the Assumption of Mary (226×149 cm), painted by Perugino, datable to 1513, and the Banner of the Plague by Benedetto Bonfigli, two works which alone are worth a visit to the village.
