It is hard to establish when the abbey was founded. The church of San Cristoforo was about 100 hectares of terrain. It is still impossible to establish the  exact date of the construction of the church even if, approximately, was around the 1000. It is possible to say that thanks to the finding of a wall with preserved stones of that period.
The church has a rectangular plan with one central nave with a semicircular apsis and is located in the area of a light hill where it is possible to enjoy the landscape.
