Outside the walls of the village of Pietrafitta, next to an old well, is the church of the Madonna del Fosso (‘of the ditch’), built in 1548 and reduced to a chapel in 1925. On the altar, a fresco of Perugian school (1524) completely restored, attributed to Tiberius of Assisi, portrays the Madonna and Child in almond with angels between San Sebastiano and San Rocco. The painting has a very evident engraving, used by artists to trace the guidelines of the work. On the sides of the entrance door, two windows have been opened to allow you to see the sacred image even when the church is closed.
