It is an important Etruscan necropolis, consisting of a series of chamber tombs dug into the travertine, with the spaces organised in a straight line. The tombs were almost completely looted before the excavation campaigns; it was only possible to recover part of the grave goods, in particular unpainted ceramics and some painted black. The urns that were found had simple decorations; the lids have inscriptions in Etruscan characters referring to the deceased.
