San Carlo Borromeo Church

Church

The church of San Carlo Borromeo, consecrated in 1629, preserves a precious wooden statue, a simulacrum of the dead Christ dating back to 1620.
It is a very particular church, covered with funeral vestments that hide nineteenth-century decorations and paintings.
Evocative in the Easter period, the church recounts ancient Christian traditions, such as the use of the ‘vicia sativa’, a spontaneous herbaceous plant: grown in the dark during Lent to prevent photosynthesis and make it lose its green color, it becomes white church furniture with a clear reference to the resurrection of Christ.
