This hill top castle was built in a dominant position on the hills that separate the Trasimeno basin from the Nestore river valley, along the border between Lombard Chiusi and Byzantine Perugia.
The ruins of the old defensive walls and a round tower are still standing, and the breathtaking views over Umbria and Tuscany are almost unchanged since the castle was first built.
