The Badia, as it is called by the locals, has very ancient origins. Its presence is documented since 1115.
The Abbey reached its maximum splendor in the fourteenth century, when it became independent and was assigned its own Abbot. At the beginning of the following century, probably due to the plague and malaria, the abbey building and the surrounding area remained deserted. Shortly thereafter, the building was used as a farm and the church as a local parish church.
It is currently privately owned.
